Theoretical Orientation
PLO 3. Demonstrate, through presentation and in writing, the development of a professional consulting philosophy integrating the disciplines of psychology, sport science, and counseling
For my theoretical orientation paper, I discussed how I am most drawn to the philosophical underpinnings of existential and solution-focused therapies. This assignment was especially important for me to complete in informing my theoretical orientation to performance excellence. In writing this paper, I reflected on my worldview, culture, community, and personal model of counseling. Writing about who I am as an individual and my life experiences was integral to forming my theoretical orientation. I really enjoyed this assignment as it forced me to deeply think about who I am as an individual, my values, and how I view the world.
