Ethical Case Analysis
PLO 2. Distinguish between various ethical codes within the mental health counseling and performance consulting professions, and articulate the rationale for disparities among them
The ethical case analysis assignment was a very important assignment to complete for my learning and growth in this field. Ethics are the foundation of honest and respectful work in the field of sport and performance psychology. I’ve realized that adhering to ethical codes are not always black and white and are often complex with several variables at play. They are important so as to avoid harm and to have a positive impact on clients to maintain and improve their well-being. Additionally, having a network of professionals that I can seek consultation from who follow the AASP and ACA code of ethics is important. I want to ensure that I surround myself with professionals who are dedicated to adhering to the ethical codes. I remember as I was completing this assignment the importance of clearly identifying and communicating one’s role to those one is working with.
