Theory Driven Case Analysis
PLO 5. Create performance enhancement interventions incorporating a variety of research-supported techniques to enhance performance and improve overall wellness
For this assignment, I analyzed a case through the acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) lens. I found it to be extremely valuable in demonstrating my ability to conceptualize a case and analyze it through a particular lens. I don’t have any experience working with clients as of yet so reflecting back on this assignment has given me a sense of assurance that I can conceptualize a case based of information that a client provides me. For example, identifying the missing information can help to better understand clients and what their needs are. From there, different diagnoses can be explored to recognize which interventions may be best used in cases. Identifying the nature of the problem can again help decipher which interventions will be most effective. I think having an outline similar to this when conceptualizing cases would help me make sense of clients, their experiences and their needs.
